Route and riding - what's nice?

On this weekend getaway to the Brecon Beacons we’ll be cosied up all together in a bunkhouse each night (just outside of Abergavenny). We’ll have home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner by the wonderful Bella. Think hearty stews, locally sourced fresh salads and perfectly spiced (Welsh) cakes.

Each day we’ll venture out into the beacons to explore the area, including local heritage sites and the moorland scenery.

We'll run different riding options on both days; a shorter, accessible ride suitable for all (we promise) and a longer route that takes in..  a few more hills let's say.. plus yoga and gong sessions run by the wonderful Gurpreet from Brixton Yoga!

All routes are suitable for road, touring and gravel bikes, stop and brilliant local shops and cafes for the all important second breakfasts, third lunches and ample coffees.

Finer details

Our weekend base is a relatively remote, simple and rustic bunkhouse each night just outside of Abergavenny. Mounds of cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinners will see us through the days riding, all cooked-up by the wonderful Bella (she's great). Porridges, granolas, fresh fruit, locally sourced salads and perfectly spiced cakes.. mmm.

Since joining her first Brake the Cycle trip, Shalyn has been hooked on adventuring by bike. Having now converted countless friends and family (and sometimes even strangers) to the joys of biking, Shalyn joins us to lead rides and share her infectious enthusiasm for exploring by bike, opportunistic yoga, sharing good food and camping under the stars. It's also quite possible that Shalyn holds the record for the most puncture-repairs in a calendar year - so we're glad to be in experienced hands.
