As the festive season gets underway, what better time to finally (and formally) announce Adventure Uncovered’s partnership with sustainable cycling company Brake the Cycle, a community-driven organisation we’ve been working with for over three years.

With growing numbers of us taking to the saddle, this summer we worked closely to formalise our existing relationship with Brake the Cycle and integrate cycle touring into Adventure Uncovered’s services and offerings.

“It’s really exciting for us as a business, and for me personally, to announce the integration of our two companies,” said Rosie Riley, Director of Adventure Uncovered. “We’ve worked with Brake The Cycle for a few years now and hope that by joining forces and sharing resources we’ll be able to develop and deliver an even better service to both the Brake the Cycle and Adventure Uncovered communities, as well as helping our individual brands to scale”.

“We’ve lots to be getting on with and we’re really delighted to get started,” said Joe Reid, Founder of Brake the Cycle. “Finally we have a real opportunity to realise the vision we’ve always had here at Brake the Cycle to carefully curate bespoke cycling adventures, offer a better service to our community on and off the bike and start to scale in a sustainable way, over the next few years. This ‘official’ coming together is a natural progression for both organisations, and I’m excited about this new chapter in our journey!”.

Coast to Coast

Cyclists take a break at Little Salkeld Flour Mill during the 4-day Coast to Coast tour in 2019.

What does it mean on a practical level?

The merger has meant collaboration on an exciting and bespoke suite of UK based, covid-secure trips for the 2021 calendar, which will be announced on January 1st, 2021. Brake the Cycle will retain it’s own recognised brand and identity, although trip info and tickets will be available through a revamped adventureuncovered.com website. All bookings will be handled by Inspired Ventures, an organisation that has taken thousands of people on life-changing adventures dedicated to ‘travelling for good.’

A sneak peek at 2021

For now, all sights are set on January 1st when a limited number of tickets will be released for five trips during 2021: two point to point tours, a micro-festival in the South West, a northern staycation and a Halloween weekend.  All fully guided, fully supported, all-inclusive and all abilities. We mean that.

Whether you’re a hardened lycra-clad roadie or a fair-weather weekend tinkerer, Brake the Cycle promises something for everyone; fully supported and guided rides, beautiful routes to inspiring projects and places, optional workshops and activities, an inclusive bunch of people, and local, organic, hearty home-cooked food.

Only 150 spaces available

We’ve curated just five trips across 2021 and deliberately limited spaces available.

Firstly, this guarantees you leave each trip with a bunch of new friends. Secondly, we've been mindful to design intimate and memorable experiences, to spark connection and conversations and to nurture community. By limiting spaces we minimise our environmental impact and create a cosier group in which to forge new friendships and take in the wild beauty of the UK.

Cycling is a leveller, the catalyst for our connection. We don't need to churn out cycle trips on mass.

Covid Secure

We’ve worked extra hard to ensure all our 2021 trips are covid secure, rigorously following industry best practice and getting into granular detail with venues and accommodation partners. We're sure you've got more questions and concerns, so please do get in touch directly or check out our covid terms and conditions page here.

Special 2021 Offer

To celebrate both the launch of our trips on January 1st and a new year to look forward to, we’ll be providing a special, one-off cycling bundle for the first 21 people that sign up.

To find out which trip is best suited to you, and to keep in the loop about the 2021 offer, simply sign up to Adventure Uncovered Brake newsletter - more information on routes, places, accommodation and everything else will be sent out between Christmas Eve and January 1st.

Follow Brake the Cycle on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and get in touch with us directly if you’ve any questions on why you should Brake the Cycle in 2021.
