Adventure Starts Early: Exploring the World with Your Newborn

Travelling with a newborn might sound insane, but I’ve found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences for parents and babies. Having had three children, I was lucky to travel during three separate maternity leaves and many other trips. Parental leave is a wonderful time to explore, as newborns are surprisingly portable and adaptable to new environments.

Dr Rebecca Ryell - GP Partner and Travel Coach

I help adventure-seeking parents confidently travel to the world's hidden gems with their children through coaching and empowering them with knowledge. I qualified as a doctor in 2003 at Cardiff University. After a year working I travelled to Christchurch in New Zealand where we lived for 2 years and then Perth in Australia for another to continue my training. After 6 months travelling in India and the South Pacific Islands, my husband and I returned to Wales and I became a GP in 2007. I love my job at the Mount Surgery and work there 3 days a week. I also lecture in Swansea University Medical School and have a MSc in Medical Education. We used my 3 maternity leaves to travel with our children. Since then we have taken sabbaticals and saved up annual leave to continue to travel. Rebecca Ryell Travel is an online business which coaches adventurous parents to confidently travel to the places that they've always wanted to go with their children. I do this though my experience and empowering them with knowledge as I am passionate about the benefits of family adventure travel.
