Co-Founder & Director

James Wight

Former office-bound marketer, James leads Adventure Uncovered and consults with Climate Action and volunteers with Sustainable Merton. He's also a B-Leader (B-Corp UK) and passionate about protecting our environment and adopting new, sustainable, circular business solutions. Would always rather be outdoors than in, most comfortable in the ocean, hiking through mountains and learning about the world through documentary film and photography.

Rosie Riley

Dedicated North Sea surfer who settles for cycling, running and outdoor swimming when in London. Advocate and promoter of sustainability and clean technology in the UK corporate sector and developing countries.

Sam Firman

Sam is a writer, researcher and social innovator dividing his time between Vancouver, London and Greece. He's interested in what ideas around adventure can tell us about society and social change. He particularly enjoys skiing, slow travel and hammocks. His van conversion is coming along, slowly.

Joe Reid is the Founder of Brake the Cycle, a company that takes groups on bike tours across the UK and Europe. From epic adventures such as Lands End - John O’Groats to weekend retreats combining cycling and yoga, all their tours boast a unique, sustainability infused twist.

Ellie Mackay
Film Festival Host

Ellie Mackay

Ellie is currently working between the UK and US as a freelance documentary filmmaker and drone pilot. She's also CEO at Ellipsis Environmental and an experienced science communicator with a demonstrated track record in sustainable impact. Ellie is also a big woman in STEM advocate and has recently worked with National Geographic in India and the US, you'll see her introducing and interviewing filmmakers at our Film Festivals!

Startup advisor, keen runner, Jimi Hendrix lookalike. Also ex-Googler and Acumen Fund fellow on a microfinance project that focused on poverty alleviation for rural low-income farmers in remote Pakistan.

Charlotte Raffo

Charlotte is a writer and communication strategist who loves to develop and commission stories that connect, engage and inspire. With a background of leading successful content and editorial strategies for global brands, start-ups and even The Rolling Stones, she has turned her attention to the world of purpose-driven adventure and now heads up our editorial team. When Charlotte’s not working, she likes to spend her time fully immersed in water of all kinds… open, cold, fresh and salty.

Lara Hayward

Triathlete, surfer, dancer and artist. Happiest at the intersect of outdoor adventure, creativity and social impact. A B-Corp advocate and lead for Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) Cold Water Islands project in her hometown, Hayling Island. Planning to run away and join the circus (yes, really).
