Event summary

Building on the success of our ‘Durdle Door Wild Swim’ in 2017, Adventure Uncovered partnered again with the Wild Swimming Brothers, and took a small group of 15 outdoor swimming enthusiasts on a river swimming surfari, to swim a unique stretch of water down the River Mole in Surrey.

The Mole is a tributary of the Thames and rises in West Sussex before finishing opposite Hampton Court Palace. The river winds its way through steep-sided valleys; through the chalk cliff Mole Gap which is an SSSI of European importance, and now boasts the greatest diversity of fish species of any river in England!

Intrepid swimmers met in a central London location at 9 am on Saturday and returned on Sunday afternoon, after 32 hours of swimming, camping, campfires, yoga and home-cooked food by the river bank.

The event brought together a fun, inclusive group of swimmers to this hidden river jewel, who discovered local wildlife, participated in a river clean up, and heard new exclusive tales from the Wild Swimming Brothers along the way.
